Marble stone surface product care & maintenance

Your Marble bench top is handcrafted and presented to you with pride.

Please consider the following to protect your new investment.  Marble is subject to staining and scratching and requires careful treatment; therefore it is important to keep a strict cleaning regime.
  • Cleaning - Wash regularly with a clean soft cloth and clean warm water mixed with appropriate natural stone cleaner. Clean down twice yearly with diluted detergent to remove any ingrained residues. Avoid bleach, citrus or acidic based cleaners and always read the directions on the label before application.
  • Polishing - Regular applications of a good wax, polished off with a soft cloth will provide additional protection for the material. Please beware of the following:
  • Abrasions and scratching. Felt bases and placemats are essential.
  • Food or beverage acids that will etch off the surface polish and oils will stain.
  • Honing the surface can reduce the appearance of scratching & general wear.
  • Always wipe up spills immediately to prevent staining.
  • Heat will scorch this material- remember to use trivets under hot plates and keep hearths  clean of burning material.
Always remember that unless fully supported natural stone is a fragile material.  Avoid sitting or standing on unsupported stone items. Provided the above considerations are remembered a natural stone surface will last indefinitely.
